OK, this is my attempt to restart my blogging! It has been entirely too long! Many changes since I last posted but i won't bore you with those silly details......My babies are doing great. 8 years 2 months and the triplets are 4 years 2 months. This week has been stressful as I have had 4 very stir crazed kiddos plus myself not getting out of the house due to the SNOWZILLA of the century. Gosh, Collin is now in second grade doing great academically as well as in sports. The triplets have grown up soo much this last year. All three of them are starting spring soccer and preschool in August. Collin continues to be an amazing big brother, patient as always (most of the time). Cora remains my stubborn "last man standing" girl, Cami will always be my artist that wears her feelings on her sleeves and Carterman, well Carter is the guy that if you asked him to jump, he would jump without thinking the concequences lol. Cami & Carter are both whistling and quite proud of it. Our latest family adventure is playing Wii Monopoly, if you don't have it, you should get it! My newest adventure is a new job and looking forward to it very much. I hope to post some new pictures as well as updating on a regular basis. Cheers to blogging!

Has a broken clavicle bone......send her prayers. She is a tough cookie, but in pain and i find impossible to "imbolize her for 4-6 weeks". She was shoved off of the slide by her little brother, Carter. We thought it was at first it was just bruised, but it is a complete break. We have to be very careful that she doesn't futher injure it so that it heals "cleanly" and doesn't disform her collar bone.

Following Disney on Ice, we did annual Egg Coloring!

Busy weekend! Most excitement was Disney on ice. We loaded up Collin w/ 2 friends, gma and gpa and our trio and off we went to the Sprint center. OPPS, did i mention it was at Kemper? Fortunately, we were still on time, front row, right on the ice. Carter didn't blink, Cami couldn't keep from clapping, Cora was reserved and most thought our older "three" boys were a second set of triplets! LOL. thankfully Gma and Gpa enjoyed the show with us (and the financial pain), but we had a blast and EVERYONE gets KUDOS for great behavior! Today we did our annual egg coloring event, and once again, color was everywhere, fun was had and by golly my kids are in bed and it is 6:58 p.m. Whew, a weekend.!

Common Sense 101Share

Something I feel people fail to think about is what is going to happen once the money drys up. Lets take for example someone who is in a house they can't afford. Lets say they get some help to get caught up on their mortgage. A couple months down the road what happens when they still can't afford the house they are in? When helping these people why should we stereotype all of the people needing help as people that really are in need. Granted some are in need at no fault of their own and that is fine. But what about the people that have the cable tv, internet, a gym membership, go out to eat everynight, drive the nice car, use drugs, spend $300-500 per month on credit card debit from buying material things.......the list goes on and on. I don't like paying my house payment and i would rather not but I do and I give up a lot to do so.
I received an email that had a good point the other day. A lot of people have to take and pass drug test before they can work and pay taxes on the money they earn. Why shouldn't a person have to take a drug test to take that tax money in the form of welfare? My point being we should have some sort of litmus test for these people that are getting bailed out. I understand that people can live how they want but when you start to became someone else's responsibility then you should have to play by their rules.
Something else I feel people are not thinking about. What happened when the price of gas went up? Did the price of goods and services not go up too? Why is that you ask, because they cost of doing business for those companies went up so they passed it on to the consumer. Thats how it works. So when it comes time to pay for all these new programs and we start taxing all the "big evil corporations" whats that going to do to their cost of doing business? Its going to go up and what do you think they will do? Raise their prices. Corporations don't pay taxes. You pay the tax for them.
Throwing money at a situation instead of fixing the problem doesnt really help anyone. Look at the child growing up that had everything they ever wanted and was never taught personal responsibility. They are pretty much worthless now aren't they? Why because they had money thrown at them all their life instead of actually getting some parenting. Money is good for the short term but doesnt fix the problem. This is why there are people out there making a million dollars a year but they are spending 1.5 million per year and are in trouble now, because they have no personal responsibililty. Its called living within your means and there is not a lot of it going on in this country right now. Its easy to tell when the news does a story about "people are starting to save money now" haha wow what a concept. This is why people like Dave Ramsey make a killing selling common sense. I think in order to buy a house you should have to listen to him as a part of the process. I think a lot of things but all I can do is take care of my family and post my thoughts on here for you to read.
Anyways people are too caught up on the left vs right stuff when most of their problems lay in their own laps. Politicians are all the same for the most part. They talk a good game but once they are in they do what they want. Notice they all voted themselves a raise this year. Did you get one? So stop waiting for them to do something and do something for yourself.
If you are an angry person that is going to comment on here about "the last 8 years" or "Pelosi kicked your dog" or "Clinton hit on your wife" or "Bush killed your house plants" save it. Stop pointing fingers actually have a point or a realistic idea of your own. Also if you are going to regurgetate a newpaper headline or internet story at me and call that your agurment I promise I will throw many virtual facebook sheep at you.
I am all about helping people who really need it but giving money to everyone and assuming they can't help it hurts us all in the long run. Its amazing how history repeats itself. Also if you read this and think that I am suggesting we do nothing instead duck because you will be getting sheep coming your way as well.

We got home Friday night, put the kids in bed and had 2 of our dearest couple friends over and played a new game "Imagine If...." We had a BALL. 2 best games of 2009. I am so proud of my hubby. After 10 years of commitment to his former job and with them being bought out last year, he has been miserable. Not kind of, I mean MISERABLE. The Friday before Christmas, we made a very brave decision and was determined that life was more than him going to that place, and he resigned. Let me tell you, as a wife, as a mom of 4, in today's economy, I was scared for us to do something so irresponsible but I supported him 10000% percent and we were prepared to wait out many months of unemployment. I am proud to report in under a month, he has accepted a new position with a wonderful new company. It is a lateral move as a controller and the income is the same. We can not ask for anything more. We are thrilled beyond belief and so very grateful that God has blessed us.
Thank you all for prayers, referrels and recommendations, we truely have the best friends and family.

So we painted the bathroom red and put silver highlights on the wall to make the blacks pop, the dining room is the most yummy fudge color with gold and silver metallic accents that makes the room amazing. I have fabric picked out but Fallon has to make the curtains yet. I hung my black & whites on the big red wall which i LOVE LOVE LOVE, it is the first thing you see when you walk in. I have to hang ribbon yet to make it look like they are hanging from the rods above them. The bedroom is awesome, we did one wall in a beautiful aqua color w/ chocolate Haliquin (sp) as an accent. It mirrors what the print/texture is in the bedding.!!!! She helped me pick out a fabric for the kitchen and Chris made valances for me and I covered them with this amazing fabric that was on SALE for $3.99 a yard. You have to go to this fabric store on Old Metcalf and 119th. You would not believe the prices! the whole main level has a fresh coat of paint and i love it!

Meet My Cousins!

Last Friday my cousins came up from Oklahoma and spent the night with us. Lisa has 3 beautiful children, Beth has 1 and Cara is preggo and due in 1 month. Let me tell you these ladies are absolute the most beautiful people you will ever meet! Lisa & Beth had never met the triplets and as we hung out in our zoo, they fit right in loving them all evening long! We enjoyed Cara's baby shower the next day (forgot to take pics) but LOVED having them up. Can't wait to have them up this Spring!

2 night, Bed time bootcamp, day 2. Chris and I are booting our children from coming to our bed in the middle of the night. (exceptions obviously) but having 3 or 4 everynight show up around 2:00 a.m. is STOPPING. Last night was OK, made it til 5:00but tonight making it til morning. M-E-A-N.

Last night, following a rocking game of Wii Bowling (which Collin, Chris & I are addicted to) we were safely tucked in at 10:00 p.m. Wow, getting old (and over the flu). hehe. Did more purging today, more cleaning and more simplifying.

Bad blogger award goes to.....Me. Only me. Wow, that was a long update! So, what have we been doing. Holidays, Holidays, Holidays, Flu, Flu, Flu, Laundry due to the flu, Lysol, Pine-sol, scrubbing every possible inch of my house (which is rare because I have it done), projectile vomiting by all 4 kids and a husband. Did I mention, flu? Oh yea, then I had 3 solid days that i was complelled to kick Christmas back to the basement storage, purge every single closet, every single cabinet, every single junk drawer, rearrange furniture, make 2 trips to Good will will 2 very full truck loads, 3 dumpsters full of junk and a partridge and a pear tree. We were so lucky to let the family enjoy 60 degree weather following Christmas. They LOVED their new Jeeps santa brought them. Hated the helmets, but loved the jeeps. JUST wait til summer, bummper cars, here we come!

My wonderful son, Carter....after a very long day and a very good nap, we had a bath. Why you ask does he has his diaper on???? Well, after an hour of all 4 kids in the tub, Carter was the first out. i always do diaper first on all then get jammies on, well..........Carter was a little fast for me and decided to jump back in the tub, CLEAN diaper and all into the tub. yes, I am taking the $.19 cents from his College fund. oh, my.

Oh, Uncle Steve. This year has been the hardest year on all of us. I only pray you see the pain of your departure has put on each of your parents, your brother, your nephews, neices and myself. This was the first Christmas dinner you weren't here. You weren't running late for me to yell at you. I actually looked at the clock before we set down to dinner and wondered what time you would arrive. Almost an entire year later, and I can still hear your voice on the phone asking what time to arrive, and me knowing full well, to buffer it 1 hour for your prompt arrival! hehe. I was at a loss this year. I didn't know what to do for your mom, for your dad, for your brother or for Collin. You have always been an intregral part of this family and especially Christmas. Your packages always perfectly wrapped and your thoughfulness always sincere. I struggled the entire month wondering how we can still remember you, make it through the day, but perhaps start a tradition that we can do every year. You may not be here, but by golly, like it or not, my children and my husband will remember you. So, we bought you 2 balloons and each of us wrote a note to you and we sent them to heaven. I know you got them. I know you read them and I pray you help each and everyone of us find peace with your choice. We love you Steve and we miss you. My children miss you. My son Collin misses you and prays about you everynight with his "happy thoughts". You are special and will always be. I bet you, please help us. Please help mom, dad and your brother be whole again. If not whole, peace. We love you.

Gma's, Gpa's, Mawmaw's and papas, Nana's and Papa's all enjoyed opening gifts from the kiddos that were very "THEM"! LOL. Our gift to our parents were buying their plane tickets to Disney in May! How great will that be! 5 beautiful days with our family and both sets of grandparents with connecting rooms? Can we say AWESOME????? We are so thrilled! You can see the kiddos didn't receive a single thing from anyone.

Christmas Eve was a wonderful celebration this year. Although we don't have a full time Church home, we always enjoy Christmas Eve service at the Killcreek Kaw Prairie Barn Service. We enjoyed sitting on hay stacks, animals in the stable and a wonderful play presented about the birth of our savior. The Kids did a terrific job and enjoyed all of the "mals" and sipped Hot Cider. It was a beautiful Celbration and then we headed over to G'ma & G'pa's house

Even Winnie got to enjoy the fun. Yes, after waking up late, we were out the door with 4 kids, 1 dog, 1 husband, 1 load of laundry started and the kitchen cleaned up, 2 showers, 1 tank of gas in 1 hour and 5 minutes. RECORD and RARE.

The kiddos enjoyed making Gingerbread houses (although the ate more of the accessories than they put on the house (notice the gumballs and the gumdrops hanging from their lips!), their first ice cream cones and an entire bag of CHEETO's! Seriously.....mawmaw, we have to talk! They were sooooo tired by the end of the day but great fun had by all! Poor Cousin Cooper has a boo boo from falling and enjoyed wearing MawMaws earings. YIP, that one is coming out on prom nite Cooper man! xooxox

This one was awesome too, but we used Cherry Candycanes instead of Peppermint. Super easy and was really tasty!

We used cherry candycane's instead of peppermint and it was yum, pretty and different!

Ingredients

Crushed candy canes, to yield 1 cup
2 pounds white chocolate
Peppermint flavorings, optional
Directions

Place candy canes in a plastic bag and hammer into 1/4-inch chunks or smaller. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Combine candy cane chunks with chocolate (add peppermint flavoring at this point if desired.) Pour mixture onto a cookie sheet layered with parchment or waxed paper and place in the refrigerator for 45 minutes or until firm. Remove from cookie sheet and break into pieces (like peanut brittle.)

Choc Chip cookies (w/ vanilla pudding)

My favorite choc chip recipe (has pudding in them so they stay fat and puffy). These double great AND once cooked, you can freeze them for future.

• 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 2 cups butter, softened
• 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
• 1/2 cup white sugar
• 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
• 4 eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
• 2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown

Oreo Balls

1 package regular size Oreo cookies, crushed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 package white almond bark
1 package chocolate almond bark
Directions
1Using a blender or hand held mixer, mix Oreos and cream cheese together.
2Roll into walnut size balls.
3Chill for an hour.
4Melt approximately 3/4 package of white almond bark.
5Stick a toothpick in an Oreo ball and dip it in the melted white almond bark.
6Allow to harden on wax paper.
7Takes about 15 min.
8While waiting, melt about 1/4 package of chocolate almond bark.
9When Oreo balls are no longer sticky to the touch, decorate with drizzles of chocolate and white almond bark.
10I just use a sandwich bag with a tiny hole cut in one corner to drizzle the almond

Tuxedo Brownie Hugs Cookies
Tuxedo brownie cookies are the perfect "dress up" cookies for parties, birthdays and special occasions of all kinds. Even better: It only takes a few minutes to make these tuxedo brownie hugs cookies.
Ingredients:
1 22.5 oz. package brownie mix with syrup pouch
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup canola oil
2 eggs
1 13 oz. package Hershey Hugs Kisses (black and white), unwrapped
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat mat. Or spray with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the brownie mix, syrup packet, cocoa, water, oil and eggs together.

Drop by rounded teaspoonsful onto prepared cookie sheet, one inch apart.

Bake 8 minutes or just until set.

Remove from oven and let cool 1 minute. Press a Hershey "hug" in the middle of each cookie.
